Grupo Aurora formed in 2015 as a group of local New Yorkers who simply wanted to bond over their love of Bachata. Over time they started to record songs of their own and decided to share them with the world.
Identifying their creative mission as “Amargue Moderno”, Grupo Aurora aims to elevate Bachata to unprecedented heights, redefining the genre for a new generation. Their members have many different backgrounds that together culminate into the unique sound that is heard consistently throughout their releases. Kelvin Aurora (Lead Singer) has deep inspirations from Michael Jackson along with many R&B influences. Jack Marcin (Lead/Rhythm guitars) pulls from his extensive knowledge of Classical and Jazz music when creating intricate bachata melodies. Jerry Zyno “Tu Pisces Favorito” (Rhythm/Lead guitars) has created his unique sound of playing guitar and singing through his music influences of Anthony Santos as well as many R&B artists. Kelman Bass (Bass guitar) likes to implement different genresin how he plays bachata, with styles from Victor Wooten, Jaco Pastorius, and Isaias Leclerc.
From its inception, Grupo Aurora has had an aura to it where everyone brings their own experiences to create music together relying on each other’s unique styles. Grupo Aurora’s single “Dime Si Volverás”, released in 2018, marked their foray into blending Dubstep-inspired synths and pulsating kick drums. This innovative approach continued in 2019 with the creation of the Trap-inspired Bachata hit “Mi Peor Castigo.”
The year 2020 heralded a new era for Grupo Aurora with the release of “Te Alejas de Mí,” showcasing their signature sound and unique guitar work. Their subsequent singles “Fantasma,” “La Cárcel,” “Maldición,” and “Mi Lamento” further solidified their success, earning them a prominent place in both traditional and sensual Bachata scenes.
Their latest single, “LMCY (Like Me Como Yo),” combines their distinct musical style with new, captivating elements, continuing their trend of producing mesmerizing tracks. Building on the success of their hit “Mi Lamento,” this single further highlights Grupo Aurora’s innovative approach and unique sound.
